A North Yorkshire Gem

Nestled on the edge of the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National park you will find this beautiful, family owned Estate.

I had the pleasure to exhibit at The Chapelgarth Estate open day on Saturday. From the moment I pulled up in the drizzle in my laden car, I was stuck by the person-centred approach and genuine wish to help. I was offered assistance parking, to be escorted with an umbrella as I unloaded and generally made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Rewind. I am an exhibitor and not even a bride / groom to be! I was shown to a lovely area of the house and, under the watchful eye of Isabella the bird (I’m no ornithologist sorry so no idea what species of bird), so named after the delightful young daughter of a lovely couple with whom I chatted for some time, I enjoyed 3 hours meeting people and hearing their stories. Stories of magical surprise beach proposals included.

It was immediately apparent to me that this was quite a unique venue. One that offered all of the grandeur and history one would expect with an Edwardian Country House, but one that was still family owned, intimate and that didn’t overwhelm or consume you with its grandeur. This is a rare thing indeed. The Chapelgarth Estate prides itself on offering a “home from home wedding”.

Just one of the stunning views.

So what kind of wedding might I have?

So, I took a little time to explore what was on offer and chat with other local trusted suppliers also showcasing their services at the open day. You are given the full and exclusive use of the house and its grounds. No other weddings and bustling patron traffic interrupting your day. This can be problematic at much larger venues where there is frequently more than one wedding or event at the same time. You have full use of the 7 bedrooms sleeping up to 15 guests should you wish to use this option. What this also demonstrates is the unique ability of the estate to adapt to intimate or micro weddings as well as larger ones. This is all about you and your day. The estate offers the flexibility of both indoor and outdoor weddings. This is music to a celebrant’s ears as I am able to move my ceremony without restriction to where ever the couple so choose (it is also a licenced venue should you choose a council registrar led wedding so more options for you).

The views from the windows are utterly breath taking but trust me, the bride will still outshine all!

Now, I love an outdoor wedding. Imagine a venue with all that an Ewardian Country home can offer, but with the ability host the Tipi wedding of your dreams – a festival, boho, rustic or elegant outdoor wedding is so well suited here. Celebrant led weddings are a real opportunity to take full control of your wedding and to maximise all of the options that your chosen venue affords you. Quiet intimate spaces or a larger lawned area, each with a view all its own. There is also the option of guests staying over in Bell tents so that you are all in one place.

Supplier colleagues

I can’t conclude without a shout out to some wonderful suppliers. It is always a privilege to meet and chat with others who love all things wedding. The Chapelgarth Estate is well connected with professionals to help you design the day of your dreams.

Beautiful, bespoke sineage was on offer by the equally talented Bespoke Signs by Amie Parrington

I have to say that I take my quality control role very seriously indeed and I was blown away by the catering from James Brown's Nomad Catering. Ditto the treats on offer from Sweet Treats of Stokesely.

Outdoor catering, indoor dinning. It's all taken care of.

Of course you may want a beautiful wedding cake. I have to say that fairy cakes are the best I can do so these stunning creations from Cakcophony (and yes, I tasted them too), were a delight to see.

Of course you want to capture your special day and it was fascinating to see how videographer Joe Burns uses his highly technical drone to give the unique perspective of an aerial video. Stunning images and still photography was on display from Lianne Gray. I can’t do justice to this on a blog so please, please do check out the websites.

No wedding open day is complete without a selection of stunning dresses. Jaonne Kay Bridalshowcased some beautiful gowns.

Thank you Marcella and family for making this a wonderful day. There is every opportunity here to have your day, your way.

For much more information than I can give you here head on over to The Chapelgarth Estate website , or simply give them a call. A more helpful family you could not wish to meet. Yorkshire weddings at their best.
